Chris Romero (b. 1987, New Brunswick, New Jersey) is an American artist based in Fukuoka, since 2019. Working across painting, sculpture, and illustration, his artworks comment on themes including memory, digital culture, and everyday life. In addition to his visual art, he is the character designer for the NHK program ゾンターク:おどりのほし.
He has exhibited across the United States and Asia. Most recently he will presented new ceramic sculptures at Munakata Miare Art Festival, and held solo exhibitions at Tetra Art Space and Tenjin Tsutaya in Fukuoka.
Prior to living in Japan, he participated in artist residencies in Tokyo and Seoul, and worked as a curator in New York.
